War Zone

Headquarters is a calm centre for efficient communications. Inside the brick and sandbagged bunker, strategic command gathers intelligence and the fortunes of men and nations are deliberated upon by high command. Outside the troops crouch in the muddy trenches, camouflaged and khakied, writing letters to loved ones and eating K-rations. Stacked ammunition boxes and jerry cans wait to fuel the deadly machinery and medics standby with stretchers and field Aid kits, ready to salvage survivors from the fray and tend the wounded. Heavy artillery pounds the earth and the vicious whine of bullets strafing assaults the senses as the brutal reality of battle resumes and the grim curtain rises once more on the theatre of warzone.
