Roman

The mighty empire is at the height of its power and dominion over many lands. Ancient Rome – the centre of culture and civilisation, architecturally ingenious and the axis of all the arts and sciences. The massive rings of the colosseum rise at the end of a grand concourse lined with pillars bearing statues representing all the pantheon of the Gods. Nearby the Senate convenes and conspirators casually plot the demise of a despot by the calm waters of ornate pools and in the shadows of graceful, carved columns. Underground in the murky caverns, wild beasts roar and pace as the populace gathers in anticipation of the bloody festivities to come and gladiators mount golden chariots preparing to fight to the death in a daily ritual of mortal combat.
